Sid Meier’s Civilization VI (Digital Deluxe)

civilization6

Sid Meier’s Civilization has been a staple of the 4X strategy genre since the early ‘90s, and in many ways, Civilization VI is a culmination of what the series does best. There are complex systems that are deeply satisfying to master, a variety of winning conditions to suit different playstyles, and a well-paced structure that keeps the game interesting from the Ancient Era to the Information Era. The “Digital Deluxe” edition includes six DLC packs, adding several civilizations, leaders, and scenarios to the base game.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI (Digital Deluxe) is on sale for 75% off until April 24, 2019.

Frostpunk

frostpunk

The most shocking thing about city-building survival game Frostpunk is witnessing the kind of ruler you become. Tasked with tending to a budding society of survivors who live on an alternate Earth that’s been ravaged by global cooling, you’ll find yourself making hard decision after hard decision in order to balance keeping your people happy and keeping them safe. Play enough of Frostpunk, however, and it might strike you that the new, oppressive law you just passed would’ve gone against your own ethical code — at least before the eternal winter arrived.

Frostpunk is on sale for 40% off.

BattleTech

battletech

The tabletop mech miniature series BattleTech received a PC game adaptation in 2018, and it didn’t disappoint. The squad-based strategy game is incredibly detailed; the position of your mech isn’t the only thing that determines its vulnerability, but also the angle of the incoming attack, the pieces of armor that protect its various appendages and components, and even the atmosphere of the battlefield. BattleTech is one of those adaptations that elevates its source material, providing a wholly new experience.

BattleTech is on sale for 43% off until April 26, 2019.

Sunset Overdrive

sunsetoverdrive

Originally a console exclusive, Sunset Overdrive made its way to PCs at the end of 2018. It’s a vibrant, vividly animated, hyper-caffeinated dance party of a game that’s all about movement and color. It’s rare to find a vision of a dystopian city that’s inundated with saccharine hues of orange and blue, yet that’s exactly what the mutant-infested Sunset City is. Moving through Sunset City’s open world via ziplines and grind rails isn’t just a treat but a requirement — stop to smell the roses for even a moment and risk getting hurt.

Sunset Overdrive is on sale for 25% off.

Overcooked! 2

overcooked

Overcooked! 2 just might ruin your friendships, but once you get that ever-important three-star rating, you’ll know it was all worth it. Overcooked! 2 is a multiplayer co-op cooking game about delegating tasks, efficient use of space, and communication, communication, communication. Working together to prepare and deliver dishes in playfully chaotic environments that are out to get you might sound stressful — because it is. But achieving the perfect routine with your fellow chefs is so rewarding that it keeps you coming back, one frenzied back-of-the-house shift at a time.

Overcooked! 2 is on sale for 34% off until April 26, 2019.

Moonlighter

moonlighter

What do dungeon-crawlers do with their loot once they’re finished dungeon-crawling? In Moonlighter, protagonist Will uses his finds to maintain his shop. Just as the title suggests, Moonlighter concerns a shopkeeper who moonlights as a dungeon explorer. The gameplay is broken in half accordingly; rogue-lite gameplay dominates the dungeon excursions, while business management sim gameplay covers the shopkeeping aspects of Will’s life. All in all, it’s a unique and transfixing gameplay loop that continues to be rewarding from day to night, in and out of the game.

Moonlighter is on sale for 40% off.
