Meet NZXT, the Team Behind Ninja’s Official PC

Staff – January 29, 2019 at 2:37 AM

Being Ninja is no easy feat. From streaming Fortnite with Drake to winning the 2018 Game Awards’ “Content Creator/Streamer of the Year” award, you can tell that Ninja is an extremely hard-working man. He’s so hard-working, in fact, that he maintains a rigorous 12-hour streaming schedule, devoting most of his hours to his passion and craft: Streaming some of the best Fortnite talent in the world. But what, exactly, does it take to be Ninja?

The truth is, if you want to get on Ninja’s level, you can’t merely have a strong work ethic (though that’s certainly important). You also need a gaming rig that can support your near-superhuman ambitions, one that can rival the power of Ninja’s own rig.

To find out just what Ninja needs to keep up his A-game, we sat down with NZXT Public Relations and Marketing Specialist Andy Johnston to chat about the desktop PC they designed in collaboration with Ninja.

Ninja’s Build, featured on NZXT’s PC customization service, BLD, houses top-of-the-line components in a strikingly stylish blue-and-yellow case. NZXT worked closely with Ninja to identify his needs and ensure that the system suited his busy lifestyle.

“We admire the hustle and heart he displays when gaming and streaming”, Johnston said. “This is what drew us to him in the first place. We want our brand ambassadors to embody a certain passion for gaming and Ninja fits the bill perfectly.”

The first thing Ninja and NZXT did was choose the case — NZXT created a special edition H700i that includes Ninja's logos, stylized etching on the glass panel, and integrated RGB lighting. “I am very partial to his case”, Johnston said. “It is very rare to see a case sharing its unique blue and yellow color scheme.”

Next, they chose the all-important components. NZXT’s BLD service makes this process easy, allowing its users to pick and choose components based on price, optimizing for a certain FPS, etc. In fact, BLD goes as far as to provide FPS metrics for a custom build per game, meaning you can determine whether or not your build will be able to run, say, Fortnite at 125 FPS before you even purchase it.

For Ninja’s Build, NZXT kept Ninja’s intense work ethic in mind. “When choosing what went into Ninja's build, we wanted to make sure that we gave him a machine that fit his unique gaming lifestyle,” Johnston said. “We wanted to make sure he could play any game at max settings and handle all his content creation needs without compromise.”

Multitasking without compromise demands a powerful CPU. That’s why NZXT went with an Intel® Core™ i9-9900k processor as their CPU of choice. “We wanted to provide Ninja a CPU that was able to handle his gaming and streaming needs,” Johnston said. “Intel’s i9 line is known for being able to stream and game simultaneous without limiting much performance.”

NZXT made it clear that Ninja’s build doesn’t hold anything back. “Ninja’s NZXT PC is for the gamer that wants the best of the best,” Johnston said. “They want a build that is clean and striking; a build capable of slaying frames at the highest settings while streaming; a build that can handle video content creation. This PC is for power users who want to do it all.”
