What are you doing this Friday? If you’re KEEMSTAR, you’re doing the same thing you do every week: Friday Fortnite.

If you don’t know, Friday Fortnite is a weekly online competition put on by UMG Events and YouTuber Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem. The structure is simple. Thirty-two teams of duos battle it out against each other for honor, glory, and of course, $20,000 in cash.

If you missed the recent Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am at E3 earlier this month, Friday Fortnite features many of the same fighting faces. Fan favorite streamers like Ninja, Daequan, and Dr DisRespect have all played in recent tournaments. One of the big draws of Friday Fortnite is the double-elimination structure, which allows teams to advance in a loser’s bracket if their initial drop into Fortnite is unsuccessful.

While the battle royale genre still is growing as an esport, Friday Fortnite shines a light on what the future of games like Fortnite might look like as a competition. And of course, each week there’s always the drama with one question: Which of your favorite streamers and personalities will win?

For aspiring Fortnite pros, get tips on how to up your game and compete with the big dogs at Fandom and don’t forget to check out Friday Fortnite this week.
