Twitch star GiantWaffle joined us on a trip to Stockholm, Sweden for an exclusive 4-part video series on the newly released co-op smash hit Vermintide 2*In the second video in the series, designer Victor Magnuson talks with GiantWaffle about how they built on the success of Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide* by delivering new functionality specifically designed for today’s gaming audience.

Following up on a successful game isn’t easy. Expectations are high and delivering technical improvements can push small teams to their limit. How then do you overcome these obstacles? Fatshark Games* did it with a combination of skill, passion, and innovation.

A few unique features were mentioned during Victor’s interview that might catch the attention of gamers and non-gamers alike. The first is something called Twitch integration which allows streamers to involve their community with the gameplay experience on a level beyond simply viewing the action as a spectator. Have a good relationship with your followers? They might send bonuses and boons your way. Do your fans instead like watching you squirm? Expect them to send more monsters and challenges at you while you play.

The other big features that Victor talks are the different optimizations made for Intel architecture, and the various performance improvements enabled by them. Despite the polished graphics and smooth gameplay, Vermintide 2* doesn’t require the strongest hardware for a positive experience – it can also run on an Intel® NUC!

Upcoming videos include an overview of the technical accomplishments in Vermintide 2*, and an exciting recap of GiantWaffle’s livestream with the devs. Will GiantWaffle save the Old World? Stay tuned for episodes 3 and 4 to find out!
