Two weekends full of world-class esports, gaming, and technology - welcome to Katowice


The city of Katowice, Poland, will once again become the place to be for any esports or gaming fans out there. With two weekends jam-packed with world-class esports and the newest gaming technology, as well as thousands upon thousands visitors on-site, we can expect another event for the history books. Here’s a quick overview of the exciting things to come.

The weekend of February 24-25

  • ESL One Katowice - Dota 2 Major with 16 teams participating. They will fight for a prize pool of $1,000,000 on February 20-25th.
  • Intel Challenge Katowice - Women’s CS:GO tournament with 8 team fighting for a prize pool of $50,000. It will take place on February 23-24th
  • PUBG Invitational at IEM Katowice - 16 teams from all around the globe will battle it out for a $50,000 prize pool on February 24-25th.

The weekend of March 2-4

  • IEM Katowice CS:GO - 16 teams from all around the world will be fighting for a prize pool of $500,000 on February 27-March 4th.
  • IEM Katowice SC2 - 76 players from all around the world will be fighting for a prize pool of $400,000 on February 26-March 4th.
  • Puchar Polski Cybersport - Tournament for Polish CS:GO and League of Legends teams with a 50 000 PLN prize pool.
  • HGC 2018 Western Clash - Heroes of the Storm tournament with 8 teams from Europe and North America fighting for a prize pool of $100,000 on March 2nd-4th.
  • Crossfire IEM EXPO Invitational 2018 - Crossfire tournament with 4 teams fighting for a prize pool of $30,000 on March 3rd.
  • VR Challenger League - Top Echo Arena and The Unspoken competitors will come to Katowice on March 3-4th to determine the VR Challenger League Season 1 champions.

Both weekends

IEM Expo

The fourth edition of IEM Expo will welcome the industry’s top brands, technology companies, and influencers and exhibit three separate esports stages hosting individual esports competitions in games not featured on the main stage. The event will also turn a spotlight on the Intel Experience Zone, demonstrating the newest tech and gaming technologies, allowing attendees to experience the latest games and hardware with a VR showcase. The IEM Expo will also be open to business trade visitors, providing a business center for esports industry executives and leaders.


Last year, IEM Katowice welcomed a staggering 173,000 visitors, the 2016 edition having welcomed 116,000. How many will attend this year’s event?
