Twitch Mode Brings Spectators to Play

by Victor Magnuson – March 7, 2018 at 9:00 PM

For the release of Vermintide 2, Fatshark Studios added a new option called Twitch Mode, specifically designed for players who like to stream. As streaming grows in popularity, this integration creates an even richer gaming experience for everyone, players and fans alike.

This new Twitch Mode is a separate game mode that players activate when streaming the game. One of the cornerstones of the Vermintide 2 experience is set by the AI Director, but this Twitch Mode moves some of the decision making normally handled by AI to the audience.

This exciting feature allows viewers to dictate what situations a player will face. While a stream is live, options appear on screen for the audience to vote on. Do you want the player to face an onslaught of a Chaos horde or battle against the might of the Stormfiend? This game mode enables fans to help their favorite streamer in a time of need and to have an active role in the game.

Fatshark sees Twitch Mode as the first step towards tightly integrating streaming into the game itself. Twitch is integral to professional streaming and normal players enjoy sharing that experience. It also allows viewers to watch skilled players while learning tricks and techniques. So, whether you’re playing the game or just watching, you’re affecting the outcome. Make sure to try Twitch Mode when you play Vermintide 2 and get involved, like never before!
